The right-hander allowed one run -- designated hitter Ben Rice 's fourth-inning solo home run to lead off the fourth inning -- on three hits while striking out three and walking one in 4.2 innings of Tampa Bay's pivotal Game 2.
"I thought he threw the ball incredibly well," Rays manager Kevin Cash said of Peralta, who was perfect through his first three innings. "We were all super pleased with it, and it was a tough decision. I felt like the changeup started to work just off the edge enough where he wasn't able to get it in the zone. But early on, it was dominant fastball, dominant changeup. It's tough to nitpick anybody that goes through that lineup and gives up a solo homer. Very pleased with Freddy."
Peralta exited the game with runners on first and second base in the fifth inning after catcher Austin Wells ' two-out double and third baseman Ryan McMahon 's walk.
