Yankees put Cam Schlittler in early hole with 3 first-inning errors in ALDS Game 2 vs. Rays

With presumptive AL Cy Young winner Cam Schlittler on the mound, New York's defense bungled the first inning with three errors that allowed the Rays to take a 1-0 lead.

In the first at-bat of the game, Schlittler induced a ground ball from Yandy Díaz that should have been a routine out. But the ball bounced off Ryan McMahon's glove, allowing Díaz to reach safely.

Díaz reached second on a single by Jonathan Aranda, then scored on New York's second error of the frame.
