DitD & Open Post - 10/5/26: Preseason Hockey Edition

The Devils followed up the excitement of the season's first game with a real dud on Saturday against the Islanders. New York took a 6-0 win. Sheldon Keefe: "I mean, if you could sum it up by just saying that we were playing preseason hockey against a team that was probably playing February-type hockey. They played at another level today that we haven't seen. And, I guess you'd say we failed that stress test." [ Devils NHL ]

More tough news for Detroit: Simon Edvinsson prefers a trade away from the Red Wings.
