Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell wouldn’t discuss DC Kelvin Sheppard’s job security after another defensive meltdown.

Naturally, the topic of firing defensive coordinator Kelvin Sheppard has come up publicly. Given the perceived talent on the team and the pretty significant spending on that side of the ball , the performance of the defense has been less than acceptable. It's been atrocious, particularly with a back-seven of the defense that leaves acres of open grass for the opposing quarterbacks to attack.
After Sunday night's 32-26 loss to the Carolina Panthers, Lions coach Dan Campbell was not ready to talk about the future of Sheppard's employment. He was asked how many of these bad performances he needs to see before he considers a change at defensive coordinator. His answer:
"Yeah, I'm not talking about all that, man," Campbell said. "I'm talking about getting better right now with what we got, and that's what we're going to do. We're going to find a way to get better with what we got."
