Tony Bellew believes Whittaker has the talent to pull off those antics, but Wallace exposed what happens when an opponent keeps attacking instead of admiring them.
Whittaker would make Wallace miss or land a shot, then pause to showboat. Wallace pursued him and punched again. Making the first attack fail did not leave Whittaker safe from the next one, particularly when his attention shifted toward entertaining the crowd.
“You’re either good enough to do it, or you’re not. He is good enough to do it,” Bellew said on DAZN ’s Beyond the Bell. “I don’t care if anyone’s a fan of it or you’re not. Are you good enough to pull this kind of stuff off? Are you good enough to try and be another Naseem Hamed? He is good enough.”
