Patriots downgrade rookie cornerback to out ahead of Bills matchup

The New England Patriots officially downgraded rookie cornerback Channing Canada to out on the eve of Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills.

Canada, 24, made New England's initial 53-man roster out of training camp after arriving as part of the organization's 2026 undrafted class in May. The 5-foot-11, 190-pound corner by way of Trinity Valley Community College and Texas Christian has handled 42.8 percent of the workload on special teams through three appearances. He saw his first handful of NFL snaps on defense last week and recorded his first career tackle.

Listed as questionable on the final injury report , Canada had been a limited participant for back-to-back practices due to a hamstring issue before becoming a late scratch.
