Walt Weiss, Brent Suter and Lane Thomas talk lineups, openers and the weather

"He's been a starter and he can go multiple innings. I like having that option and we had the same option with Ray Kerr," stated Weiss. "Similar with Dodd, he can go multiple innings if things are going well and it's a nice option to have instead of having a guy to go just one inning."

While Brent Suter himself has yet to make an appearance in the Postseason, he definitely knows what it's like to open. In fact, it wasn't all that long ago when Suter himself pitched three shutout innings and struck out three batters as an opener against the Marlins. While the Postseason is a totally different animal, Suter should know what it's like to be in Dylan Dodd's shoes today.

When Suter was asked about the experience of coming in as an opener, Suter assured everybody listening that Dodd would be prepared for this moment like any other.
