Bills, Joe Andreessen agree to two-year extension

Not only did he get the training camp invite afterward, he starred in his very first preseason with 14 tackles, eight stops, and a fumble returned for a touchdown in three exhibition outings.

He's been a mainstay on special teams ever since, and in 2025, Andreessen asserted himself as a true special team ace. The Lancaster native finished second in the NFL with 23 special-teams tackles and already has five through three games.

What's vital about Andreessen too is — he serves as a highly athletic inside linebacker reserve too. At 6'0" and 240 pounds at the University at Buffalo Pro Day, Andreessen ran 4.65 and had a 38" vertical and 122" broad jump, the latter two measurements are elite level for a second-level defender.
