The basics of the flush/loop stunt deployed for a sack in week 2.
Yahoo Sports · October 3, 2026

A stunt is a pre-planned pass rush where defensive linemen trade their usual rush lanes after the snap. One rusher attacks first as the penetrator, trying to get the adjacent blockers to commit, while a teammate follows as the looper and wraps behind him into the space that reaction creates.
A stunt doesn't try to win with raw strength. It attacks the offensive line's communication: blockers have to recognize the movement, pass rushers off from one lineman to another, and keep the pocket connected.
"Flush" describes what the stunt is trying to do rather than one universally defined call, and teams name their line games differently. A flush stunt is built to make the quarterback leave his spot. A sack is a bonus, not the main goal.
