The hometown prospect finished his first professional main event with the early stoppage he had been seeking.

Referee Christopher Young intervened at 49 seconds of round two. Jones improved to 8-0 with five knockouts, while Sanchez dropped to 24-8-1 with 10 KOs. The scheduled eight-round junior middleweight fight headlined Project Series 2 on DAZN .

Jones pressed forward and put combinations together, forcing Sanchez into a defensive fight. Once the veteran was hurt near the ropes in the second, Jones kept punching until the referee stepped between them. It was a finish built through sustained offense rather than one punch suddenly ending the contest.
