Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy regrets altercation with Aaron Rodgers

During the Steelers' first drive, Rodgers shouted to the sideline at McCarthy saying, "What the f—k! Call it!" Rodgers was upset at the play call taking too long. The broadcast caught his words on a hot mic, and then caught McCarthy seemingly giving it right back to Rodgers, using some colorful language of his own.

When asked about the verbal exchange after the game, McCarthy said he wished he didn't use the language he used.

"Communication sometimes is not the best choice of words, but everybody's competing on the field," McCarthy said via Brooke Pryor of ESPN . "I think what's said on the field, the way I grew up in this game, usually stays on the field. That's not the case today. I understand that. But any negative communication on my part, I wish I wouldn't use those words."
