Magic: The Gathering Reality Fracture Review: Enter The Echoverse

Magic: The Gathering returns to its own Multiverse with Reality Fracture , a set built around alternate realities, familiar characters with very unfamiliar histories, and one of the more interesting collecting concepts Wizards of the Coast has introduced in recent years.

Reality Fracture officially releases on October 2, 2026 , following Prerelease events that began September 25 and an MTG Arena release on September 29.

The headline concept is the Echoverse , an alternate Multiverse created by Jace Beleren. Instead of simply introducing a new plane or group of characters, Reality Fracture takes people collectors already recognize — including Chandra, Ajani, Karn, Liliana and Garruk — and shows how differently their lives could have unfolded.
