Jalen Duren, Pistons end contentious contract stalemate, agree to 5-year, $200 million extension

Duren and the Pistons have agreed to a five-year, $200 million fully-guaranteed extension to his rookie contract, ESPN's Shams Charania reported Thursday.

Duren entered the offseason as a restricted free agent at the conclusion of his four-year, $19.5 million rookie contract. The two sides failed to reach an agreement at the onset of free agency in early July, and Duren did not receive an offer sheet from another team.

This led to a protracted negotiation throughout the summer as Duren's status remained the last significant domino to fall in free agency.
