Elephant Rumblings: Only One Wild Card Series Goes The Distance

Three of the four series of the first round ended with sweeps. The Yankees , Padres , and White Sox all vanquished their opponents and have punched their tickets to the divisional round. The Cubs , Red Sox , and Astros (yay) all saw their seasons come to an unceremonious end. None of them were huge favorites to win it all so their fanbases can only be so disappointed, but still never fun to see your team end the year with a loss.

The second round is now mostly set. After their dominance over one division rival, the Yankees now take on the #1 seed in the AL in another rival, the Tampa Bay Rays . This series could go either way and it'll be one of the best of the second round.

The other matchup in the AL is, again, between two division rivals as the White Sox take on the Guardians. The upstart White Sox beat Houston in convincing fashion but Cleveland is a much better opponent. Can they keep the mojo going, or does their magic finally wear off?
