The former WBO light-middleweight champion, 38, was released on bail after appearing at Manchester Magistrates Court on September 14. He is due at Manchester Crown Court on October 19, where he will be asked to enter a plea.
According to BBC Sport , police confirmed Smith’s arrest after the concierge suffered “serious facial injuries” at The Blade on Silvercroft Street in Deansgate on September 13. The alleged victim reportedly suffered fractures and required surgery.
Smith has not been convicted. The BBC report does not include a plea or a response from him.
