MLB postseason turns to wild card Games 2 on Wednesday

The Braves beat the Phillies on Tuesday at Truist Park in Atlanta thanks to a three-run home run in the eighth inning by Austin Riley . The Braves will turn to Tyler Mahle to start Game 2 on Wednesday, trying to close out the series, while the Phillies try to stay alive with ace left-hander Cristopher Sánchez on the mound.

Technically, all four contests are elimination games on Wednesday, which comes with the territory of a best-of-3 series. In the first four years of the current wild card format (2022-25), 11 of 16 series ended in two-game sweeps.
