NFL news, live updates: Giants reportedly releasing Odell Beckham Jr., trade for J.J. McCarthy

Among the biggest to watch, particularly for fantasy managers, is a knee injury to Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane. He limped off after the first drive of the game and was eventually ruled out. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Monday morning that Achane had suffered a torn ACL , with Miami now set to miss their star running back for the remainder of the 2026 season.

The news continued early as the New York Giants traded for quarterback J.J. McCarthy to fill out some depth at the position after a season-ending injury to starter Jaxson Dart . Jameis Winston started Week 3 in his absence, but McCarthy offers them another option for a spark if he's unable to get the offense in rhythm. The Giants news continued Tuesday with word that the team would reportedly be releasing veteran wideout Odell Beckham Jr. after just three games.
