Mammoth Lose Rising Defenseman For Up To Six Months After Shoulder Surgery

Maveric Lamoureux is expected to miss the next four to six months after undergoing surgery on his shoulder, the Utah Mammoth announced Monday.

The 22-year-old defenseman suffered a shoulder dislocation during training camp and underwent a procedure to repair the injury Monday, according to general manager Bill Armstrong. The recovery timeline puts Lamoureux on track to potentially return around the All-Star break.

Lamoureux had been competing for a full-time NHL role and was viewed as one of the young defensemen pushing for a spot on Utah's opening-night roster. Instead, he'll begin the season on injured reserve.
