Jets Announce Opening Night Roster Following Waiver Pickup

Winnipeg finalized its 23-man group Monday, with a late waiver claim helping settle the final few roster decisions ahead of Friday's regular-season opener against the Boston Bruins .

The Jets claimed goaltender Clay Stevenson off waivers from the Washington Capitals , adding the 27-year-old to a crease that will begin the season with Stuart Skinner as its starter. The move resulted in Domenic DiVincentiis being assigned to the Manitoba Moose, while forward Brayden Yager was also sent to the AHL as Winnipeg got down to its 23-man limit.

Stevenson brings limited NHL experience but strong numbers from his most recent opportunity. He went 3-1-0 with a 2.00 goals-against average and .921 save percentage in four games with Washington last season, while spending the majority of the year with the AHL's Hershey Bears.
