What MLB playoff games are today? Schedule, times for wild card series

The Philadelphia Phillies and Atlanta Braves get things underway at 2 p.m. ET, with matchups following between the Chicago White Sox and Houston Astros (5 p.m.), Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees (8 p.m.), then the San Diego Padres host the Chicago Cubs in the nightcap (10 p.m.).

The openers of the four best-of-three wild card series take place Tuesday, with Game 2s on Wednesday and if necessary, winner-take-all Game 3s on Thursday. The winners advance to the best-of-five Division Series, which begin on Saturday, Oct. 3.

The World Series begins on Friday, Oct. 23 at the home ballpark of the pennant winner with the better record. The Los Angeles Dodgers are the reigning World Series champions and enter the fold in the Division Series after earning a bye.
