Pokémon Diamond and Pearl Celebrate 20th Anniversary

Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl officially marked their 20th anniversary on Sept. 28, 2026, commemorating the original games’ release in Japan on Sept. 28, 2006. Pokémon series producer Junichi Masuda joined the celebration by asking fans whether they chose Turtwig, Chimchar or Piplup as their first partner Pokémon and thanking the community for recognizing the milestone. The Nintendo DS titles introduced the Sinnoh region and remain among the most influential entries in the Pokémon series.
