Blues' Justin Barron Was Originally Brought In As Depth, Now There's An Opportunity For More

The move was initially seen as a depth addition, but it has quickly become more important because of the long-term injuries to Logan Mailloux and Tyler Tucker.

Mailloux will miss at least eight weeks after undergoing hand surgery, while Tucker is considered week-to-week with a lower-body injury. Not only have the Blues lost their seventh defenseman in Tucker, but they've also lost a player expected to play critical minutes in Mailloux.

This has made Barron a more important piece of the Blues roster than originally expected.
