Penguins Add Several Players To Injured Reserve, Update Status On Two Others

Forward Blake Lizotte (upper-body, day-to-day), forward Justin Brazeau (lower-body, week-to-week), forward Ben Kindel (lower-body, week-to-week), and defenseman Ryan Graves (lower-body, indefinitely) were placed on injured reserve, clearing up four roster spots for the Penguins ahead of opening night on Sept. 30 against the Philadelphia Flyers .

In addition, the team announced that forwards Bryan Rust (upper-body) and Tristan Broz (lower-body) - presumably, both injured during Saturday's 3-1 pre-season finale win over the Buffalo Sabres - would not practice with the team Sunday are being evaluated.

The news came after three more players were re-assigned to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (WBS) , which were forward Bill Zonnon, defenseman Harrison Brunicke , and goaltender Joel Blomqvist . Taking out the players placed on IR, the Penguins are down to 25 players on their active training camp roster.
