Owen Murphy named as 2026 Triple-A All-Star

Owen Murphy has been recognized as a Triple-A All-Star for his performances with the Gwinnett Stripers during the 2026 International League season.

Murphy earned a promotion to Triple-A pretty early on this season, as he made his debut with the Stripers on May 2. From that point forward, Murphy made 18 starts, pitched 117.2 innings and produced a 3.07 ERA (66 ERA-) along with a 4.23 FIP (90 FIP-) and a strikeout percentage of 24.2 percent. While Murphy's still got a bit of a way to go before he can be considered a reliable big league hurler, he certainly appears to be on the right track based on how he performed for Gwinnett this season.

As Matt Powers' season review for the Stripers noted, you could potentially give JR Ritchie an honorable mention for his efforts, as he threw 82.1 innings and produced a 3.17 ERA (68 ERA-) and a 4.35 FIP (93 FIP-) across 16 starts for the Stripers this season. I'd imagine that the fact that Ritchie didn't clear 100 innings at the Triple-A level is what held him back from potentially getting the nod, as he did spend a fair amount of time helping out the big league Braves here in 2026.
