Former Maple Leafs Forward Alex Nylander Turns PTO With Flames Into NHL Contract

Alex Nylander, brother of William, was in the Toronto Maple Leafs ' organization for the last two years.

For 2024-25, he signed a one-year contract at $775,000 with the Maple Leafs, and one year later signed an AHL contract with the Toronto Marlies . The majority of those two campaigns were spent in the minors, playing a total of 129 regular-season games for the Marlies.

Last year, Nylander scored 24 goals and 53 points in 65 appearances and went on to win the Calder Cup with Toronto later in the year. In terms of production, that was his best season in professional hockey.
