What PSA's New Standard Grading Tier Means For Collectors

PSA has finally reopened a cheaper path to grading cards, but “cheaper” is doing a lot of work in that sentence.

Beginning September 14, 2026, PSA introduced a new Standard service level at $59.99 per card. It comes with an estimated turnaround time of 90 to 100 business days and a maximum insured value of $1,000.

For collectors who have spent the summer waiting for PSA’s lower-cost Value services to return, Standard is progress. It is also not the return to affordable grading that many collectors were hoping for .
