159 games down, 100 won: Brewers accomplish major milestone in wins

Tonight, in typical late-inning Brewers fashion, they pulled away from the Phillies to take the series and notch their 100th victory of the season for the first time in franchise history.

Much like the previous couple of nights, the Brewers struggled coming out of the gate against the Phillies' starting pitching; tonight was no different, as Andrew Painter struck out three batters in the first inning. However, his hot start only lasted an inning as Sal Frelick pounded a double to left field to drive in the Brewers' first run of the game, 1-0.

Shane Drohan had struggled in his previous two starts, allowing a combined 11 runs on 10 hits, with four home runs allowed, forcing a move to the bullpen. After a couple of solid appearances, Drohan reappeared on the mound, although with a short leash. The first two innings were scoreless, but he did allow a pair of walks and a base hit. The damage appeared in the bottom of the third inning.
