Yankees, Orioles reschedule Saturday matchup in anticipation of nor'easter set to hit New York this weekend

Rather than playing the game in Yankee Stadium on Saturday, when the bulk of the storm is supposed to hit, the Yankees and Orioles will now play a doubleheader on Friday. The games will be single admission and run back-to-back starting at 4:05 p.m. ET, preceded by a pre-planned jersey number retirement ceremony for CC Sabathia .

Per the Yankees, tickets to Saturday's game will not be considered valid for the doubleheader, though fans can exchange them for tickets to "a similar regular season game at Yankee Stadium" — which, at this rate, probably means next season. Comp tickets obtained through the Commissioners' kids initiative program will not be valid for future games.

The nor'easter is forecast to hit the region Friday night and continue through the weekend, with heavy rains and winds. The National Weather Service has issued a storm warning, wind advisory and coastal flood advisory in the New York City area from Friday night through early Sunday morning.
