Patriots open Brenden Schooler’s window to return from non-football injury list

The 2025 New England Patriots captain took part in Wednesday's practice after sitting out the entirety of training camp . He had remained on the non-football injury list as the NFL's 53-man roster deadline passed in August. But the 21-day window to return has now been opened in late September.

Players on the non-football injury list as well as physically unable to perform list are now eligible to resume practicing after the second week of the regular season. No roster activation can arrive until after the fourth week of the regular season, however, leaving a 1 p.m. ET kickoff at Gillette Stadium versus the Las Vegas Raiders circled in October.

Until then, road matchups against the Jacksonville Jaguars and Buffalo Bills will go on without No. 41.
