CJ West suffered a bone chip in his knee and is headed to the Injured Reserve

Cornerback Jakob Robinson was released from the practice squad after the team signed defensive lineman Viliami Fekhoko Jr. That's because defensive tackle CJ West was placed on injured reserve.

West suffered a bone chip in his knee. Kyle Shanahan said the injury isn't season-ending, but West will need surgery. "We hope to get him back sometime."

He appeared out of shape in training camp, and just didn't have the same kind of power he did as a rookie against the run. If he's been battling through an injury, that explains it.
