Yankees Notes: Anthony Volpe to see time at third, Fernando Cruz resumes throwing

Third base is one of the positions the Yanks still need to shore up before they kick off postseason play next week.

The Yanks will also likely face numerous lefties against the Red Sox in the Wild Card round, pushing the lefty-hitting McMahon to the bench.

In an effort to solve that problem, Boone said that he'll be testing out Anthony Volpe at the hot corner at some point over the next week.
