Bears QB Caleb Williams reportedly avoids serious hamstring injury, could play Week 3 but 'will likely miss some time'

Williams could even play the Bears' Week 3 Monday night matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles . That would be a surprisingly unexpected development, considering the scene Sunday at Soldier Field during the fourth quarter of Chicago's 9-3 loss to the Minnesota Vikings .

However, Bears head coach Ben Johnson acknowledged that his quarterback " will likely miss some time " while appearing on ESPN 1000 with Bears broadcaster Jeff Joniak.

Williams sustained the injury while scrambling to his left and attempting to run toward the end zone. The Bears QB fell to the ground and quickly grabbed the back of his left leg.
