Penguins' Training Camp: 5 Standouts Through 3 Days

We are officially three days into 2026 NHL training camp for the Pittsburgh Penguins , and it has been quite the battle so far. Unlike in years past, these three camp days are the only full camp practices, making the three days - and the upcoming four pre-season games in five days - that much more meaningful.

Before the Penguins kick off their pre-season schedule with a home tilt Monday against the Buffalo Sabres , however, there are likely to be a few areas of the roster trimmed. On day one of camp, assistant general manager Jason Spezza did say that not everyone would get a look in the games due to the condensed schedule.

"There's only four pre-season games," Spezza said. "There's not going to be opportunity for everybody in the pre-season like we normally would have, so it's a matter of rewarding the guys that have shown that they are getting closer by giving them games and seeing where they are."
