Carlos Beltrán on playing in New York, whether he'll interview to be next Mets manager

Earlier in the summer, Beltrán became the third player to enter the Hall of Fame with a Mets cap on his plaque. He opted to represent New York over the six other teams he played for during his 20-year career, having spent the most time (seven seasons) with the Mets.

When asked about that decision and what his time with the team meant to him, the nine-time All-Star called it his "best years" playing baseball.

"I would say it was my best years in baseball," Beltrán said. "Even though at times it felt difficult and it felt different. Meaning my relationship [with the fans], and sometimes how things went down. I don't know the message that was sent out about me as a person or about me as a player. It's hard to connect with a fanbase when the message out there is always negative.
