Mets Morning News: Mets receive good news on Jared Young, then snap losing streak

Jared Young thankfully seems to have avoided the worst after the collision he suffered on Thursday night, but he has been placed on the injured list, and the Mets called up Ronny Mauricio to replace him on the roster.

Andy Green is pleased with what Thornton has done this year, but also challenged him to work this offseason to earn a full-time spot on next year's team.

The Mets plan to give Mauricio some at-bats in the final eight games of the season.
