Former Kentucky RB Chip Trayanum carted off and taken to hospital after suffering neck injury

The Jets provided an update on Trayanum, stating: "Chip Trayanum (neck) has been ruled out & is on the way to the hospital. He is awake, alert, and has movement of his extremities."

The injury occurred just before halftime when Trayanum received a handoff from Cade Klubnik and took a hit from Trace Ford. After the hit, trainers and doctors immediately rushed onto the field to examine Trayanum. Several Jets players and coaches remained on the field and prayed while Trayanum was being evaluated.

Medical personnel placed Trayanum in a neck brace and strapped him to a backboard before he was loaded onto a cart and taken to the hospital. According to Adam Schefter, Trayanum appeared to be flexing both of his hands as he was being taken inside.
