Eddie Hearn Sees Frank Sanchez Testing Itauma

“I’ll tell you a fight that’s actually more difficult for Moses that he’ll have to fight: Frank Sanchez,” Hearn told DAZN Boxing . “Now, he’s old, but his style, his reflexes, although he’s old, are still [there]. The way it’s going to work is the Hrgovic fight comes for the IBF title. Sanchez steps aside but has to fight the winner.”

Sanchez (26-1, 19 KOs) showed his one-punch power by knocking out 2020 Olympic silver medalist Richard Torrez Jr. in the second round on May 23 at the Pyramids of Giza. The Cuban caught Torrez coming forward and destroyed him before the fight had time to develop.

That performance showed why Sanchez is dangerous for Itauma. He is not another aging heavyweight brought in to stand directly in front of the 21-year-old and disappear after absorbing the first clean combination. His movement, counterpunching and durability may keep him in the fight long enough to test Itauma’s chin more than once.
