Cook has missed time after suffering an apparent hamstring injury earlier in August, but it now looks like he's back in football shape. Whether or not he plays in Friday's preseason game at Philadelphia , it seems like he's trending towards being available for Week 1 of the regular season, barring any setbacks.
Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase gave fans a scare on Tuesday at practice, when he came down awkwardly on his knee and limped off the field. He did not return. While he wasn't taken off on a stretcher, Bengals fan saw their hopes and dreams go down the drain. Luckily for us, it was a minor hyperextension, and he would have continued to practice, but the team held him out .
"You're looking for, I've said the word a lot, consistency," the Bengals' head coach said about the battle on Monday. "Who just wants to take it and run with it? … We still have time on our hands and are still waiting to see someone just grab some of those jobs and take them. But we really got three practices this week. It can go into next week as well. I know cuts are falling this week, but I really look at it as there being about five practices left to sort all that out.
