To recap the action, please visit our Patriots training camp notebook . In the meantime, here is who caught our eye during the roughly 100-minute session.
K Andy Borregales : The Patriots' second-year kicker ended training camp on a high note. Working exclusively with the skinny goal posts, which offer less room for error than the regular-sized ones, he started his day by making five field goals from varying distances early during the session. He then ended his strong practice, and training camp overall, by capping off an end-of-game simulation.
Drake Maye and the offense were tasked by head coach Mike Vrabel with driving into field goal range with just 20 seconds on the clock. The unit left the field with a 54-yard field goal waiting to be made, and Borregales was spot on yet again — something that had been the case throughout the summer, with the exception of a preseason opener against the Colts that saw him uncharacteristically miss three field goal attempts to the left. However, it seems that those misses, which came while working with a new long snapper, were merely a blip on the radar.
